Since 1909, the address has housed one of Copenhagen's bathhouses, originally established to promote good hygiene and health among the city's citizens. Today, Sofiebadet is Copenhagen's only preserved bathhouse, focusing on pleasure and well-being in the high-ceilinged rooms that exude stories from times gone by.

Sofiebadet describes itself as a 'working museum', where history intertwines with spa experiences, including a spa with a sauna, a steam bath, and hammam and massage treatments. It is still possible to visit Sofiebadet for a simple shower or to book a hot bath and enjoy a facial and a glass of wine while relaxing in the beautiful porcelain bathtubs.
