In 1935, the need for a strong and maintenance-free faucet that could withstand heavy loads led engineer and chief engineer at Gentofte County Hospital, Otto Sparre-Petersen, to develop the iconic SP-faucet with its famous stirrup top. With its classic design, organic expression and almost indestructible quality, it has since become known as both the industrial luminaire and the 'Rolls-Royce of luminaires.' For the same reason, it has been used worldwide for decades, from hospitals and embassies to private homes.
