It was the need for a strong and maintenance-free fitting that could withstand heavy loads, which in 1935 led the engineer and Gentofte County Hospital machinist Otto Sparre-Petersen to develop the SP fitting with its famous top piece. Since then, it has been called both the industrial fixture and the Rolls-Royce of fixtures with its at once classic design, organic design language and almost timeless quality, and for the same reason has been used worldwide for decades in everything from hospitals, embassies and private interiors . The SP fitting exists in two versions with a stirrup handle and an elbow club respectively, which due to the design's obvious hygiene advantages are particularly used in hospital and institutional settings.
We recommend that the fitter installs a dirt filter at the water inlet when the fitting is installed.
